Sky meets Sea : Vacations in Northern Germany
Both the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, the islands or the coastal mainland, Germany’s Northern coastline is a landscape of exceptional beauty and serenity which for centuries has fascinated visitors.
The North Sea is a bordering sea of the Atlantic Ocean – between the UK Scandinavia, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.
While the Baltic Sea is, by comparison, a brackish Mediterranean-type sea on the other side of Denmark in Northern Europe, bounded by the Scandinavian Peninsula, the mainland of Europe, and the Danish islands.
While Rick Steves has lots of information about the major large cities in central and southern Germany he has not yet ‘done’ Northern Germany – however some readers have asked him to reconsider! –http://www.ricksteves.com/news/travelnews/0505/0505letter.htm
Germany-North has been created for English speaking visitors planning to travel to the Northern part of Germany, mainly but not restricted to the area known as the Baltic Coast.
The beauty and dynamism of the area of Germany North is unfortunately not well known for our target audience of English speakers worldwide – and we hope to be able to change this with our promotion of this truly magnificent – in both nature and architectural history – area.
