‘Orkantief – Sebastian’ fells trees in Northern German Mecklenburg – one fatality and some people wounded.

First Autumn storm to hit Northern Germany arrived on Tuesday. Called ‘Orkantief Sebastian’ it raged over wide parts of Northern Germany Wednesday. In Hamburg a man was killed by falling scaffolding.

The German Meteorological Service (DWD) warned on Wednesday of hurricane gusts, which in some cases could reach wind speeds of up to 140 km h.

‘Weinhaus Uhle’, Schwerin

‘Weinhaus Uhle’ in the Schusterstraße in the North German town of Schwerin has been given a new lease on life! As of last weekend this the historic restaurant, on the corner to the Engenstraße/ Schusterstraße will be re-opened.
